A head of a Greek athlete with curly hair and a diadem of victory – a Roman replica based on a Greek original from the late fifth to early fourth century BCE. The sculpture was created in the Hadrianic classical/postclassical style, which returned to classical Greek themes and especially to the time of Polykleitos in the second half of the fifth century BCE.
